I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it – we are going back from whence we came.

Memorial Cremation Reef
In memory of our brother Buddy and his wife Dawn, we are very proud to be establishing the William Roberson Noe Sr. Memorial Reef Project, better known as “Buddy’s Reef”. Where the cremains of your loved one can become part of a cremation reef just off of our crystal coast.
Buddy’s Reef (Memorial Cremation Reef) Projected dedication Summer of 2014
Buddy’s Reef creates a permanent living legacy that will memorialize the passing of your loved one and is located just a few miles off of Shackleford Banks.
For families and individuals that choose cremation, Buddy’s Reef offers a new memorial choice that replaces cremation urns and ash scattering with a permanent environmental living legacy. Cremation reefs make an incredible contribution to the marine environment and benefit future generations.
Families and friends are invited and encouraged to participate in the creation of their loved one’s memorial reef. From placing your handprint in the damp concrete during the casting, making a rubbing of the bronze plaque during the viewing ceremony, or placing a flag on your loved one’s memorial reef during our military honors ceremony.
