Rodney H. Ferencz, 76, of Otway passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at home.
“Pap Pap”, “Bird”, “Fishing Rod”, or “Mosquito” are some of the names people knew Rodney as. He started his career as a government mechanic; but spent most of his life as a coal miner in Pennsylvania. He loved fishing; traveling in his truck camper with his wife; and was known for his “primitive camping”. He was a proud member of the Moose Club International and the NRA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Straits United Methodist Church with Pastor David E. Jones Officiating. In honor of Rodney’s wishes, please dress casually for the service.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen E. Ferencz of the home; son, Kenneth and his wife Jeannette Crissman of Charleroi, PA; daughters, Susan and her husband Patrick Hill of Charleston, SC; Kathy and her husband Todd Brady of Harsens Island, MI; Kelly and her husband Todd Santo of Roscoe, PA; mother, Edyth Ferencz of Belle Vernon, PA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bill Ferencz; and Mike and wife Janet Ferencz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ferencz.
