Born in Hartford, CT on July 3, 1981, Barbara is survived by her husband, Keith A. Patenaude; sons, Noah Dragon, Mason and Porter Patenaude; her parents Kathryn Dragon Allen and David Allen; brothers, Derrick Dragon and Charles Lloyd; sister, Cindy Lloyd along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Columbus C. Lloyd. Barbara completed her Esthetician certification at Asnuntuck Community College and then went on to graduate from Carteret Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration, achieving the Impact Leader Award from The National Society of Leadership and Success. Barbara was also involved in the Carteret Community College Student Government as Vice President. After graduating this year, she began working for Beaufort Vision in Morehead City where she was excelling and finding her stride in life. She was always open to learning and helping her family and her community without hesitation. Her devotion to her boys, husband, and family was her greatest strength. She was seen by all with her involvement in her childrens education, their school PTA, Sports Booster Club, and college foundation fundraising. Her greatest gift was spending time with her family, especially outdoors or enjoying movie nights. Barbara was also creative and loved to try new things, whether that was in her incredible ability to cook or the pleasure she took in doing crafts with her children. She was also an avid reader and took much pride and joy in the time she devoted to her gardening and raising livestock at her home in North Carolina. Barbara was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and resourceful. She will be remembered for all the love she shared with her family and friends. She truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it. Barbara will be so very missed by all.
