Flint McCullen Manning Sr, 63, of Havelock, was called home to glory on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at St. Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Minister Michael Manning officiating.
Flint, born on June 9, 1960, also known to his family and close friends as “Short Dog” or “New Kee” was employed at Owens Corning for many years before he was hurt on the job after which he became the neighborhood mechanic. Many years later he decided to work with his younger brother in the construction business/brick mason business at A/C Construction, until his health began to fail.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: one daughter, Tamica Carter (Carl) of Havelock; one son, Flint M. Manning Jr. (Akisha) of Chesapeake, Virginia; six grandchildren: Quinton Hill, Isaiah Manning, Aniyah Walton, Adaya Godette, Ariana Manning, and Honesti Godette; one sister, Patsy Manning, of the home; six brothers: Kimbrew Morris of Havelock, NC, Marshall Jackson (Yardenia) of Havelock, NC, James Manning Jr. of Havelock, NC, Michael Manning of New Bern, NC, Sam Manning Sr. of New Bern, NC, and Rex Green of Greenville, SC; one adopted sister, Lucille Freeman of McClellanville, SC; one adopted brother, Cornell “Nard Huger”; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Manning Sr.; mother, Queenie Mae Green Jackson Manning; one brother, Scottie Manning; and his three sisters, Naokra Manning, Ada Manning, and Evette Manning McDaniel.
