Almira “Jean” Sharpe, 91, of Beaufort, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 3, 2025.
As a devoted woman of faith, Mrs. Sharpe was a faithful member of Purvis Chapel AME Zion Church. Her life was deeply rooted in her spiritual beliefs, and she led her family through the strength of prayer and the guidance of the Word of God.
Mrs. Sharpe was a very special lady who was loved by many, especially by her family. She held a deep and abiding passion for those closest to her, and her love served as a foundation for those around her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her and were touched by her unwavering devotion and grace.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Purvis Chapel AME Zion in Beaufort. Burial will follow at Oceanview Cemetery in Beaufort.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Lee Sharpe and wife, Pamela of Morehead City; daughter, Carrie Sharpe of Beaufort; granddaughter, Marquisia Sharpe of Beaufort; grandson, Leandro Godette Jr. of Beaufort; granddaughter, Shannon Finch of Jacksonville; granddaughter, Crystal Finch of Fayetteville; grandson, Tony Olando Sharpe of Harlow; Tevin Sharpe of Raleigh; nephew, Samuel Henderson of Texas; niece, Hazle Wright of Texas; nephew, Jimmy Collins of Morehead City;
very special niece, Mary Franks of Chesapeake, VA; and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Carrie Henderson; husband, Leroy Sharpe; daughter, Delorse Sharpe; son, Glenn Sharpe; brother, Charlie Henderson Jr.; sister, Margaret Collins.
