Benjamin "Ben" O'Neal

Benjamin B. O’Neal (Ben), of Beaufort, passed away peacefully June 19, 2025 at Pruitt Health Crystal Coast in Beaufort.

The family will have a private celebration of life.

Ben was born on May 15, 1950, on Harkers Island, NC, to the late Lillie Belle and Milton Mack O’Neal Sr. Ben lived his life to the fullest, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and cooking, but most of all he loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always referred to them as “my babies.”

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Aundrea O’Neal Weeks and husband Steve of Otway, NC; son, Robert W. O’Neal II and wife Stacy of Jacksonville, NC; granddaughter, “Nikki” Raynor Barta and husband Hunter of Otway, NC; granddaughter Mattie Rose Fletcher and husband Ty of Amarillo, TX; grandson Rein L. O’Neal of Jacksonville, NC; great grandchildren, Skyler, Lillian, and Harrison Barta; bonus sons, Brian D. Noe (Danielle) of Morehead City, NC; Frank D. Noe (Amy) of Stella, NC; sister Helene O. McCabe, who loved him and cared for him like a mother, of Beaufort, NC; brother Toby O’Neal of Beaufort, NC; brother J.D. O’Neal (Joan) of Harkers Island, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in his death by the love of his life and mother of his children: Janice Marie Garner Noe O’Neal; his brother, Clifford D. Lewis; brother, Milton M. O’Neal Jr.; brother Robert W. O’Neal; sister Lizzie K. O’Neal; and a special niece, Valerie O. Willis.
