Beaufort

Betty Jean Michalski, age 85, of Beaufort, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 13th, 2026. Peacefully in her sleep, with her Loving husband by her bedside.

Her family will be celebrating her life privately.

Born November 24, 1940, Betty grew up in New Bern, North Carolina, where she was raised in a large, lively household. She had a deeply special place in her family’s history as 1 of the last surviving siblings of 12 children, beautifully honoring the legacy of the 5 Girls and 6 Boys who grew up alongside her.

Betty lived a life rooted in deep faith, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family. A devout Christian woman, her grace and warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her faith guided her through every season of life.

Betty shared a beautiful, lifelong love story with her husband Raymond Michalski. Together, they built a life filled with shared devotion, marrying young and celebrating an incredible 68 years of marriage- a testament to their enduring love, loyalty, and partnership.

Above all, Betty was a devoted matriarch who poured her heart into her family. Her legacy lives on through her last remaining sibling Lee Daughety, her 5 children; Cathy, Stephanie, Mark, John and Anthony. She was the proud grandmother of Jessica, Matthew, Andrew, Amber, Meagan, Michelle and Anthony Jr., and the cherished great-grandmother of Landon, Mirabel, Tempe, Charlotte, Payton and many others who she loved very much.

With her passing, an era draws to a close for the family, leaving a sole remaining sibling to carry on their legacy. But, her gentle spirit, dedicated faith, and profound love will live on vividly in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to write a special memory of Betty, and if you have one, include a photograph to share. Betty truly loved listening to the stories of the memories she shared with her family and friends, and she cherished seeing old photographs of the people she held dear. Your shared moments will be a lasting comfort to the family.
