Bradley Slater

Bradley R. Slater, 63, of Newport, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.

He retired after 25 years of civil service at Cherry Point. Bradley was an active member of Harlowe United Methodist Church, an avid UNC fan, and loved his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the Harlowe United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11;00 am on Wednesday. A recording of the service will be posted following the service at noefs.net.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Dunkerson and husband, David of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Howard Owens of Newport; sister, Brenda Pettry and husband, Tom of West Virgina; Virginia Brown of Havelock; brother, Victor Slater and wife, Cheryl of Newport; his niece and caregiver, Amber Robinson and her son, Lucas Stone; and many more nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jeanne Slater and his sister, Lynn Owens.
