Brenda was born to the late William Carl Edwards Jr. and the late Agnes Marie Edwards on March 25, 1947. Brenda was a beacon of warmth and love, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her unwavering kindness.
Brenda was the cherished wife of Talmadge Goodnight, with whom she shared a life of dedication and love. Together, they raised a son, Matthew Goodnight, who inherited his mother's compassionate spirit, love for family and music. Brenda grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Faye Perritt (sister), Carl Edwards (late brother), Phyllis Sealey (sister), Charles Edwards (brother), Debra White (sister) and Angela Edwards (late sister). Brenda shared in the countless cherished memories with her parents and family throughout her life.
Her professional journey was marked by her role as an office assistant in various capacities, where her natural ability to spread kindness and love made her a beloved figure among her colleagues. Her retirement did not mark the end of her contributions, as she continued to touch lives through her involvement in the community and church activities.
A woman of many passions, Brenda found great joy in spending time with her family, who were the cornerstone of her life. She loved being a grandmother and beamed with happiness anytime she was able to see or talk to her grandson. Her melodious voice was a staple in her church choir, where she dedicated countless hours to singing and uplifting others through music.
Brenda's zest for life was evident in her love for group hugs, a simple yet profound act that encapsulated her belief in the power of human connection. Her hugs were a source of comfort and strength, and they will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be enveloped in her embrace.
The legacy Brenda leaves behind is one of love, compassion, and the enduring power of family. Her life was a testament to the belief that the most profound impacts are made through acts of kindness, both big and small. Brenda's memory will be treasured and kept alive through the countless lives she touched and the love she freely gave.
Brenda's presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew her. As her family and friends gather to celebrate her life, the echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her love will fill the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Brenda Mae Edwards Goodnight's life was a beautiful melody, composed of love, family, and service to others. As we bid her farewell, we take solace in knowing that she is singing her song, one that will continue to be sung by all who carry her memory in their hearts. Rest in peace, dear Brenda, until we meet again.
