Wayne Cox

Bruce Wayne Cox, 76, of Beaufort, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at his home.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date

He was born in Fayetteville, NC, to Ada and Bruce Cox. Wayne unconditionally loved his family, and his family loved him just as much. After a long-haul truck driving career, Wayne found success in the movie store business in Arizona and New Mexico before retiring in 2016 and returning home to Beaufort, the place he loved most.

Wayne was known for his warm smile and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his brother Jerry Cox and wife Lecia; nieces Leigh Long, Allison Williams, Christy Avant, and Tracey Watts; great-nephew Max Williams and great-niece Annie Williams; and special friends Vivian Minx and Jason Tatro.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ada Hinson, father Bruce Cox, and stepfather Gerald Woolard.
