Christopher Cameron Knudsen

October 24, 1990 — May 30, 2025

Beaufort

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved youngest son, Christopher “Cameron” Knudsen. Cameron was only 34 years old and left us far too soon after a courageous and hard-fought battle with an illness that too many families know all too well. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Cameron was a cherished father, son, brother, and uncle. His smile, gentle spirit, and easygoing nature brought joy to everyone who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Woodville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Arthur Family Cemetery in Bettie. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the church on Monday.

He is survived by his beloved son, Greyson; his loyal dog, Ivy; his mother, Gwen; his father, Harold (Patti); his brothers, Clay of Beaufort, Mike (Amy), and Mark of Timberlake; and his sister, Mary Margaret of Beaufort. He is also remembered fondly by his grandparents, Clyde and Nancy Ward of Beaufort; and his uncles, Lonnie Ward (Anna) of Morehead, Sheldon Ward (Renee) of Raleigh, Lee Krikorian of Boston, and David Smith of Bettie. He was a proud uncle to his nephews Wayne, TJ, and Eli of Beaufort; David of Durham; and his niece Ashton (Stone) of Zebulon. With a larger number of other extended family members too many to mention.

Cameron was proceeded in death by his Grandparents Clayton and Ruth Knudsen, uncles Victor and Richard Smith and cousin Shannon Dawn Smith.

Heartfelt thanks to his favorite nurse, Maggie Race, and the entire Gentiva Hospice team.

Professionally, Cameron built a proud and accomplished career with Brown Investment Properties, where he rose to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. This promotion was a milestone he deeply cherished, a reflection of how far he had come and how much he had grown. Cameron took great pride in his work and found genuine fulfillment in mastering his craft and reaching a goal he had worked hard to achieve.

Cameron was a gentle giant—standing 6’5” tall, yet always tenderhearted. He had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, especially those who felt lost or out of place. His compassion and warmth made everyone feel welcome.

A lifelong Carolina Panthers fan, Cameron fell in love with the team after seeing them play in person at age 10. He shared a deep love for sports with his older brothers, especially through years of Fantasy Football—where his knowledge of teams and players was legendary.

Cameron lived each day with intention, joy, and faith. Guided by mentors and close friends, his spiritual journey brought him strength and purpose. Even in his youth, he possessed a wisdom and clarity beyond his years.

Though his presence is gone, we know Cameron walks beside us in spirit every day. His love remains in our hearts, always.

“For those with a son or daughter—hold them close. Cherish every moment. Time is precious.”
