Danny Willis

Danny Ray Willis, 70, of Atlantic Beach, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

He was the owner and operator of Willis Trucking & Grading of Atlantic Beach. Danny enjoyed fast boats and cars. He also enjoyed boat trips to Cape Lookout and Ocracoke.

The family will celebrate his life privately.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Willis Garner and husband, Jesse, of Harlowe; two grandsons, Brody Willis of Beaufort; Harrison Small of Harlowe; granddaughter, Emmalyn Willis of Otway; cousin and long time friend, Chris Lewis (wife, Taylor). Also, his business partner, Danny Salter (wife, Lacy), who stood by him even in his last hours.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Jean Willis and his son, Joseph Willis.
