Dennis Campbell

Dennis Anthony Campbell, 73, of Otway/Beaufort, passed away on December 7, 2025, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City, North Carolina.

A visitation will be held at noon Monday at Noe Funeral Service in Beaufort, NC. Burial will take place at Vergie Mae Cemetery, Harkers Island. 

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Dennis led a life marked by curiosity, resilience, and a deep commitment to those he loved. A lifelong learner, Dennis was always seeking to expand his knowledge.

Dennis pursued many paths throughout his life. He served on a mission to Norway with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an experience that marked a meaningful chapter in his life.

He also spent eight years in the Dominican Republic studying medicine.

His adventurous spirit led him north to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, where he worked on the Alaska Pipeline, before suffering an injury. While recovering, Dennis discovered his passion and love for Real Estate. From there, Dennis moved on to own and operate a moving company in his hometown of Seattle, Washington, where he built a livelihood through hard work and commitment. His career then took him to Texas, there he and Pamela got their commercial licenses and started a moving company, driving together. Their journey eventually brought them back to North Carolina, where Dennis worked as a private CNA until health concerns led him into retirement.

Dennis shared an extraordinary bond with Pamela - the love of his life. They had known each other since youth—he fell first—and were set up by family and friends who recognized their connection. Their engagement in Santo Domingo was a cherished milestone in their love story. Their first kiss came just before Pamela boarded a plane home—a moment that marked the beginning of their lifelong partnership. On January 10, they were officially married at the Harkers Island Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A devoted family man who came from a large family himself, Dennis dreamed of having one of his own. He found joy in simple pleasures and was known for being an avid Jeopardy enthusiast.

He is survived by the love of his life, Pamela Riley Campbell of Otway/Beaufort; sister, Rose-Mary Wiebold and husband, Mark of Fairbanks, AK; sister, Dolores Holder of Utah; brother, Leslie Hazelton Campbell Jr. and wife, Penny of Anchorage, AK; brother, Gilbert Campbell, and wife Kristine of Palmer, AK; sister, Lilly Simpson and husband, Bill of Utah. As well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ruth Campbell; brother, Bruce Campbell; and two sisters, Sylvia Stefan and Eileen Miller.
