Eugene S. Ahlers, 82, of Beaufort, originally of Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.
Eugene proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force before retiring from military service. Following his retirement, he pursued his passion for craftsmanship and precision by opening a clock shop in Gloucester, Massachusetts. His dedication to the art of timekeeping reflected both his technical skill and creative spirit. Eugene also found great joy in life on the water. An avid boater, he spent countless hours immersed in the maritime world that brought him so much happiness. In his final role, he worked as a salesman at MarineMax of Westbrook, Connecticut, where he had the opportunity to sell the very boats he had always dreamed of.
In addition to his work with clocks, Eugene was an artist who held a deep appreciation for the visual arts. His fondness for artistic expression was evident in both his personal pursuits and professional endeavors.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
