Evangeline Dudley

Evangeline Delores Dudley, 77, Morehead City, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.

A dedicated member of St. Stephens AME Zion Church in Morehead City, Evangeline served faithfully as an usher for 13 years. She was also a proud alumna of WS King High School, cherishing her connection to the school and its community.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Stephens AME Zion Church of Morehead City. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City.

She is survived by her daughter, Queena Mbir of Morehead City; daughter, Jerilyn Carretero and husband, Juan of Newport; six grandchildren, Victoria Washington of Wilmington; Nataly, Isabella, Amaya, Jailyn, and Juan Jr.; four sisters, Virrone Felton of Newport; Marilyn Coward of Morehead City; Roberta Dudley of Morehead City; Minne Dudley of Morehead City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mable Dudley; brother, Robert Burn Dudley Jr.; sister, Iilue Dudley.
