Henry Paul Harris

 Henry Paul Harris, 80, of Atlantic, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Atlantic United Methodist Church

Born on July 20, 1945, Paul devoted his life to faith, service, and family. He was the son of Cecil Harris and Erah Mason and grew up surrounded by a large and close-knit family. Over the years, he experienced both profound love and deep loss.

Paul answered a calling to ministry that would shape much of his life's work. He served as pastor for several Methodist congregations across eastern North Carolina. His ministry included Merrimon Methodist Church of Beaufort; Broad and Gales Creek Methodist Church; Cedar Island Methodist Church; Sea Level Methodist Church; Stacy Methodist Church; and Williston Methodist Church. Through these appointments, Paul offered spiritual guidance and support to many communities over the years.

In addition to his pastoral work, Paul had a long career as an Electronics Specialist at Cherry Point, where he retired. His dedication to both his profession and his ministry reflected a life committed to service in all its forms.

Paul’s family remained central to his heart. He is lovingly remembered by his son Ricky Perkins (Jodi) of Holden Beach, NC; sister Kay Salter (Leon) of Atlantic, NC; daughter Linda Harris Healy of New Bern, NC; cousin Billy and his wife Mary Ann Mason of Youngsville, NC; several grandchildren whom he loved dearly; and numerous nieces and nephews with whom he shared enduring bonds.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wives—Sandra "Sandy" Taylor, who passed in 1981, and Sue Harris, who passed in 2023—as well as multiple brothers and sisters who were dear to him throughout his life.
