Jackie Brown Gillikin, 84, of Otway, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.
Jackie was a very smart and gentle man. Anyone who met him loved him. He has taught a lot of people different talents of his. He could fix anything that was broken. He loved his family with all his heart and they truly loved him. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Harkers Island Ward. Burial will follow at the Martha Louise Family Cemetery in Otway. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laraine Gillikin; daughters: Vicki Gillikin, Jacqueline Davis and husband, Ron; son, Paul Gillikin and wife, Heidi; grandchildren: Heather Guthrie and husband, Mikie; Jamie Gillikin and wife, Danielle; Megan Vangelist and husband, Jason; Gavin Gillikin and wife, Alison; Trista Guthrie and husband, Jeremy; Dylan Gillikin and wife, Myranda; Ronni Davis and wife, Felicity; great grandchildren: Justin and Drew Guthrie; Alexandrea and Taylor Gillikin; Brailey, Rachel, and Jason Vangelist; Greyson, Guyon, and Winsor Gillikin; Bradley, Bailey and Bentley Guthrie; Emersyn and Mabry Gillikin; great great grandchild, Waylon Guthrie; sister, Virginia Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Grace Gillikin; siblings, Carolyn Guthrie and Sidney Gillikin.
