Jeanne Gray

Jeanne L. Gray, 67, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center of New Bern.

Jeanne attended Reece's Chapel Baptist Church of Mill Creek, where she found spiritual community and fellowship. Jeanne devoted many years of her life to serving others through her work as a bus driver. She drove for East Carteret High School, ensuring students arrived safely each day, and later continued her service with CCATS Public Transportation, helping residents across the region reach their destinations.

The family will celebrate her life privately.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles P. Garner of Beaufort; Daniel Garner of Beaufort; her long-time partner, Wilford “Wink” Best of Newport; eight grandchildren: Charles S. Garner, Alex Garner, Elizabeth Garner, Caitlyn Garner, Kimberly Garner, D.J. Garner, Payton Garner, and Chase Garner; sister, Wanda Styron and husband, Roger of Cedar Island; brother, Joe Gray of Cedar Island; brother, Steven Gray and wife, Kimberly of Cedar Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Maggie Gray.
