Marie Ann Roberts

Marie Ann Heath Roberts passed away suddenly on July 15, 2025.

Born October 12, 1945, in Greensboro, NC, Roberts graduated from Page High School and attended Guilford College.

Marie married her life-time love, Frank Roberts, also of Greensboro, NC, in 1965 and the couple just celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were blessed with the birth of their son, Lee Roberts, in 1968.

Marie loved her hometown and became very active in the business community where she served as Executive Director of the Greensboro Merchants Association. She was recognized by several organizations for her valuable community service and was even presented with an official key to the city from the Greensboro Mayor.

Marie then changed careers and helped grow her family's construction business, Roberts Eastern Services, and she and Frank moved to Ocean Isle, NC in 1993. Always wanting to be involved with the community, Marie became President of the Ocean Isle Property Owners Association and served on the local planning board. Marie still had time to support numerous causes with Frank, including the Ocean Isle Beach Land Conservancy and public artwork programs.

Marie and Frank retired to Beaufort, NC, where they've lived since 2005. Even in retirement, Marie stayed active in the community and was POA President of Indian Summer Estates. She became a master gardener, enjoyed gourmet cooking, attending church and bible study, and giving to others.

Marie is survived by her husband, Frank Roberts; her son, Frances Lee Roberts III; and three grandchildren, Owen, Grant, and Paige Roberts.

A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Marie on Saturday, August 23, 2025, 2:00 pm, at The Methodist Church of Merrimon, 5012 Merrimon Road, Beaufort, NC 28516.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Broad Street Clinic, 534 N. 35th Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
