Sharon Hill Norman, 79, of South River, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at her home.
She was a member of Edwards Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Sharon was deeply rooted in her faith and community. She was a talented artist with a gift for painting and drawing, often finding inspiration in the world around her. In the evenings, she enjoyed visiting the shell pile to collect treasures that she would transform into beautiful crafts, which she lovingly shared with family and friends.
Sharon was widely admired for her exceptional skills as a homemaker. Known for her immaculate home and warm hospitality, she always had supper on the table by 4:30 p.m., many times with a homemade dessert. Her southern cooking was legendary in the community, as were her homemade candies and fudge. Sharon also had a special talent for baking and created countless wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes that brought joy to many celebrations.
Her dedication to her family and friends was evident in every aspect of her life. Sharon’s creativity, generosity, and love left an indelible mark on those who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Hardy Family Cemetery in South River.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ronald Paul Norman of South River; daughter, Cindy Norman Dunn and husband, John of Greenville; son, Roger Scott Norman and wife, Tammy of Beaufort; four grandchildren, Jonathan Norman of Raleigh; Garrett Dunn of South River; Meagan Brewer and husband, Tyler of Beaufort; Ayden Norman of Beaufort; Madilyn Brewer of Beaufort; two sisters, Marsha Hill Tosto of South River; Katherine Hill Goodwin of South River; brother; Gaston Neil Hill and wife, Genny of South River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaston and Daphne Hill; sister, Barbara Hill Taylor.
