Willis Fisher

Willis Lee Fisher, 68, of Newport, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport.

Willis served as a former pastor of the Church of Christ in Havelock, where he shared his faith and dedication with the congregation. Following his time in ministry, he retired from the Department of Social Service in Carteret County, contributing to the well-being of his community through public service.

A man of deep faith, Willis found joy in life’s simple pleasures, he mastered the art of storytelling and telling a joke. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, spending time outdoors in quiet reflection. He also appreciated relaxing with a good cigar and a glass of bourbon, often accompanied by the sounds of Christian radio that brought him comfort and inspiration.

No services are planned. 

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Fisher of Newport; son, Daniel Lee Fisher and wife, Nicki of Beaufort; daughter, Megan Brown and husband, Shane of Tennessee; two stepsons and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Patsy Fisher and his maternal grandmother, Caroll Sutton.
