Chrischere Hill

Chrischere Hill, 54, of Lafayette, LA, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at her home in Lafayette, LA.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort.

She was born on December 25, 1968 to Mary B. McIver and Joseph E. Hill Sr. Chrischere was a Morehead City native.

“I lived my life in a way so it told a story of the past I lived, up until the current events of my life. I leave this world with no more regrets. I hope that my grandchildren understand that every day I fought for them. I pray that in some way everyone who crossed my path understands that to live, is not the same thing as being alive. Even though you may feel it was a short moment, I really lived my truth. From my daily rides on my bike, to speaking on my YouTube channel I never wanted to sit too long, because I knew my mind could become the devil’s playground. I stayed in school, from getting my GED late in life, to completing a Wheeling and Early Business course. So smile, for I have lived and now I am alive, so may my spirit be free.”

Chrischere is survived by her four children, Mykeda Blue of Baltimore, MD; Sherita Parker of Chicago, IL; Latosha Hill (George Sutton) of Chicago, IL; Latisha Graves of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren: , Zoey, Zion, Maliah, Justice, Jeremaih, Jabarri, Chloe, Kailee, and Mellony; two sisters, Bathsheba Hill of Wilmington, NC; Janet Hill, Savannah, GA; three brothers, Joseph E. Hill Jr. of Honolulu, HI; Shawn Suggs of Greenville, NC; Jonas Suggs of Tampa, FL; favorite niece, Amanda Washington; God-mother, Mary Alice Barrett; sister of heart, Lisa Murrell, and Valerie Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Derrick Hilton; mother, Mary B. McIver; father, Joseph E. Hill Sr.; sisters, Mellony McIver, and Geneva Hill; grandparents, Gladys, and James McIver; great-great niece, Andromeda Phelps.
