Robert C. Peurifoy

The Rev. Dr. Robert C, Peurifoy of Sugar Grove, NC died Wednesday, August 10, 2022, while riding his beloved motorcycle. He was alone and went off the road in Beaufort, NC on his way to a Circuit Riders Ride for pastors.

Robert was a retired United Methodist Pastor and loved his Lord Jesus, his family, his congregations and preaching and teaching the Word of God. He has traveled extensive miles in recent years with CMA, Honor Guard, Iron Butt Group, Run for the Wall, etc.

He is survived by his wife, Virgina Byrd Peurifoy of the home. He was preceded in death by their children; Rebekah and Nathan Peurifoy and his parents, Robert E. & Hazel Peurifoy of Concord, NC.  He is also survived by his sister, Patricia P. Lanier (& husband Ken) of King, NC; and his brother Jeff Peurifoy (& wife Mary) of Gainsville, GA.
Family & friends may greet Virginia and family after service at Faith Bridge UMC off of Hwy 321, at 194 Aho Road, Blowing Rock, NC  28605.  

A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022, afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Plain Presbyterian Church, 6800 Waycross Road, Rose Hill, NC 28458.  This is very, very close to the Duplin and Sampson County line which has a sign. Prayers are appreciated.  

A memorial service will be held at Faith Bridge UMC, 194 Aho Road. Blowing Rock NC 28605 on Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. We tried hard to work out a Saturday but could not.  We understand any and all who cannot make it on a Sunday.  Service will be led by our friends, Rev. Ben Carson & Rev. Kyle Sigmon.

Memorials may be given to Montreat College to the Robert C. and Virginia B. Peurifoy Scholarship Fund for Bible and Ministry Study Students, PO Box 1267, Montreat, NC  28757, or Toys for Tots to Marine Corp League, Mountain Detachment, in Boone, NC or to the Memorial of your choice.
